So after musing over when I wanted to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, I finally decided that morning would work best. Yes, I’m sure Paris is lovely all lit up at night from the top, but there’s no guarantee that I’ll be awake late enough to feel like doing that after entire days of eating and shopping and seeing sights. So I decided to do that on my last today at 10:30 a.m. Right before lunch, in case I want to have lunch there or at the nearby Cafe Constant, which I hear is excellent.

Now all I have to do is pray that the weather is sunny and dry. Otherwise, the whole point of going to the top will probably be moot. But I’ve paid for it and I’ll do it, come rain or shine!

Oh yes, I have booked it. August 29th at 10:30 a.m.

I guess I could have taken my chances and risked waiting in line for 2+ hours instead of pre-booking (this would take care of the weather issue). But I’d rather not wait in line in the rain than wait in line in the sun amongst thousands of other tourists.

At first, I wasn’t really interested in going to the top, but everyone told me it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I guess we’ll see.
